Sargent Rehabilitation Center held is third annual signature Gala, “Dinner is Served… Celebrity Hosts, Extraordinary Cause” on November 9, 2012 at the beautiful Quidnessett Country Club. The event, co-chaired by Barry and Sandy Gertz and Earl and Gail Tillinghast was attended by approximately 300 guests who enjoyed service by local RI celebrities and notables who, acting as dinner servers, competed in style and proficiency for tips to win the prestigious Silver Service Award. Mr. Carl Weinberg earned the Silver Service award this year by earning the most tips. Just over $110,000 was raised at this signature annual event which also included dancing to the music of Mystique and live and silent auctions. Proceeds of the event are earmarked for Sargent Center’s Phase 1 building and expansion fund which will benefit the children and adults with disabilities served by Sargent Center.
Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Gene Valicenti of NBC 10. Premier sponsor was the Tori Lynn Andreozzi Foundation. Prestige Sponsors of the event included Ms. Marilyn F. Serra, and Amica Insurance. Presenting Sponsors included The Washington Trust Company, BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Carl Weinberg & Co., NewPort Architecture, LLC, and Stanley Slowick.
